Things You'll Need:
- Computer w/ Internet Access
- Ebay Account
- Paypal Account
- Digital Camera
- Shipping Supplies
-
Step 1
If you haven't already, sign up for a free account at www.Ebay.com and www.Paypal.com to accept payments.
-
Step 2
Gather items around your home that you are wanting to part with. Grab a big box and go room to room gathering items. Research each item and see what it has been selling for. This will give you an idea if you can get what you want or if it will sell at all. Children's clothing, toys, antiques, and jewelry are pretty hot items.
-
Step 3
Take pictures of the items you wish to sell. Be sure to have good lighting, sunlight works best. For clothes, use a black or white posterboard to lay them on. No one wants to buy clothes modeled on the floor!
-
Step 4
Start listing! I recommend using Ebay's free Turbo Lister or www.auctiva.com. This will help you create professional looking listings easy and free. Be descriptive and honest in your listing. Be sure to note any imperfections of items. You will want to include your return policy. For used items, I recommend final sales. Also be sure to include shipping and handling.
-
Step 5
Customer service is key. Be sure to check your Ebay messages to quickly answer any questions from potential buyers. Once the item is paid for, ship within 2 business days.
