Step 1
Bring a pasta pot filled with water to a boil. In a separate flat pan, start searing the ground beef. Drain the browned beef in a bowl with a paper towel and chop up some onions to put in the flat pan with 3 tablespoons or so olive oil. Sauté the onion and add the beef to it mixing well.
-
Step 2
Get your favorite can of tomato sauce for a short cut, or if you have time, put in stewed tomatoes, puree tomatoes (one can each) and some tomato paste (1tsp) with the ground beef, onions and olive oil. Mix over medium heat for fifteen to twenty minutes until all the tomatoes are cooked through and soft. Put the lasagna pasta in the boiling water and cook for 12-15 minutes.

Step 3
Drain pasta, put some butter or olive oil on it so it doesn't stick together. Preheat oven to 350 and get a long pan. Begin by lining the pan with a layer of the pasta, then a layer of sauce and do this three or four times depending how deep the pan is. After the last layer of pasta, cover pasta with ricotta cheese then cover ricotta cheese with mozzarella cheese slices. Put in oven until the mozzarella is melted and a little colored on top and take out of oven. Let sit for 10 min. Cut, serve, enjoy!

on 1/14/2009 Thanks for the recipe. I love lasagna but it always seems to take forever to make.
