Coins in your couch?

Do you ever over buy because you don't know what's in your house? Do you spend hours looking for something because its not where its supposed to be? Spend some time decluttering, save money, avoid overbuying and make money on your clutter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • Desire to live clutter free
  1. Step 1

Clean out your pantry and your freezer. Make a list of what you have and what meals you can make without going to the supermarket. Save money by using what you have and by not overbuying at the store. By cleaning out the freezer and pantry on a regular basis you will be less likely seduced by supermarket sales. Donate canned foods that you won't ever use to a local shelter or soup kitchen.

  2. Step 2

Clean out your medicine cabinet and toiletries. Throw out anything that has expired and take stock of what you do have.Avoid shopping for over the counter medicines and toiletries at warehouse stores; most often unless you have a very large family the over the counter medicines will expire before you need them. Save money by paying for things as you need them.

  3. Step 3

Clean out all junk drawers and clutter spots. Your "trash" or "junk" might be another person's collectibles. Sell it yourself on an online auction or take your collectibles to an online auction service.

  4. Step 4

Clean out your closets. Look for resale shops in your area and make money on your gently used good clothing. Consider selling clothing online if you have designer clothes and/or accessories that are in demand.By knowing what's in your closet you will be less likely to purchase clothing you don't need or won't wear very often.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's easy to buy more because we don't really know what we have, by cleaning up our clutter it is easy to see what we do and don't need.
  • Invite a friend to help you with your decluttering projects and trade time.
  • Sometimes cleaning clutter can be overwhelming, take your time and break your house into small areas. Set a timer and declutter for 30 minutes at a time. If that seems overwhelming try 10 minutes a day.
