Cough and cold got ya down? Try this home folk remedy. It cures what ails ya'...

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One shot of your favorite dark alcohol..whiskey, bourbon, scotch, or brandy.
  • Half a coffe cup full of tap water
  • 2 shots of lemon juice.
  • A bottle of honey.
  • sugar...(optional)
  • Shallow sauce pan
  • spoon
  • stove or hot plate
  1. Step 1

    Pour the water,the lemon juice, and the alcohol of your choice into a shallow sauce pan and give it a quick stir to blend it up a bit.

  2. Step 2

    Put the saucepan with the water, alcohol, and lemon juice mixture on the stove over medium heat and stir it occasionally.

  3. Step 3

    Heat the contents of the saucepan until it gets hot and begins to steam. You do not have to bring the mixture to a boil, and with the alcohol content, it might not be a good idea.

    A toddy, (or two), by the fire...

    When heated, pour the mixture into a coffee cup. Add honey and/or sugar to taste. This should tickle your taste buds while giving your insides a big, warm hug...lol.
    My grandmother used to say that nothing beat a hot toddy by a cozy fire ... She was a smart woman ..... Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • A cinnamon stick and/or nutmeg can also be added for a different or 'extra' flavor.
  • Can also be served with a lemon wedge garnish.
  • Don't drink "hot toddies" and drive. The police don't care if you have a cold...lol
