Step 1
Sign up and obtain an account on the Website called MeetUp. It helps you find other people with similar interest including those who are stay-at-home moms. Simply click on the "sign-up" link, provide your name and general area where you live. Then, create a biography and add a photograph. Start searching by entering the key words "stay-at-home moms." You can narrow your search by indicating the number of miles away you'd be willing to travel and including the town you live in.
-
Step 2
Join the Mommies Stay Network, an organization dedicated to connecting stay-at-home moms together. You'll meet other women who share your interests and want to get together for your children to play together. If there isn't a chapter in your area, be the first to start it.
-
Step 3
Interact with other moms in your church. Get involved in watching the little ones in the nursery during church service or help with teaching programs aimed at young children. This will give you a chance to interact with other parents in general, including the stay-at-home moms in the group.
-
Step 4
Surf mommy blogs and sign-up via email or an RSS reader to receive regular updates. Leave comments for various posts and contact the author, typically a stay-at-home mom herself. These blogs not only give you a chance to make friends, but they give advice on your children, how to save money and even have drawings for kid-related prizes!
-
Step 5
Join mommy-and-me-groups. These groups are great ways for moms to meet other moms and for the kids to play together and learn new skills. Find these groups in the classifieds in your local newspaper or in magazines like "MetroParent."
-
Step 6
Sign up to as room mom at your child's school. Connect with the other mothers during ever day school days or class trips. You can make great friends in the classroom...and out.
-
Step 7
Involve yourself in activities that other stay-at-home moms would be involved with. For example, take walks in the park where there are children's playgrounds. Take your child to the library for story time.
-
Step 8
Wait for your child at her favorite activity. If she enjoys taking a dance class, waiting in the lobby can give you a chance to meet and greet other moms, including many that also stay at home.
