Potty training toilets seems like the least of your problems when trying to potty train, but
some people swear it's the difference between a child being motivated to go on the potty or not!

Here are three steps in finding great potty training toilets:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get reviews from other parents! This very well could be the most important part of the process. A potty training toilet could have all the nice bells and whistles or look really cute, but could be uncomfortable or hard to clean. The ideal situation would be to have family or friends to talk to about this, but you can also check online at places like Amazon.com or Target.com and read their online reviews as well.

  2. Step 2

Look for discounts! Many baby stores offer great deals, but you'd also be surprised at all the great deals you can find online as well. Places like Ebay (obviously – look for ones that are brand new!) and Amazon can sometimes have potty training toilets for half the price of regular stores!

  3. Step 3

Ask your child their opinion about the potty training toilets! It's important to get your child as involved as possible with the entire potty training process, and choosing the correct toilet is no exception. However, you want to make sure that their choices only include the ones you pre-researched (the ones you found positive reviews on) and the ones in your price range.

Tips & Warnings
  • Another great place to check for potty training toilet reviews is in parenting forums and messages boards.
  • If you decide to purchase your potty online, make sure you look for online coupon codes to save you even more money!
  • Remember to make it fun when you involve your child. The more excited they are about the process, the easier it will be!

on 3/9/2009 Potty training is definitely an experience, and your article has given me some great pointers why I get through this experience! (which hopefully won't be too much longer! cross your fingers!)

on 1/6/2009 LOLOL - brings back memories! My first child was potty-trained with ice cream; his brother with being allowed to go somewhere the older brother went (he had to be potty-trained before he could attend, rules of the place). Not sure I involved mine at all; other mothers are great sources of information, too. A major reason why mommy&me groups are so wonderful (as well as quilting guilds).
