Create a Snapshot of a Web Page

Creating a snapshot of a web page can be a useful tool for both business and personal use. It can also be very helpful if you are creating your own website. When you take a snapshot of a web page, you save all of the information from that website as it appears at the time you make the snapshot. This includes more in-depth information, such as HTML code and other links on the web page. Here are two different ways to create a snapshot of a web page.

Instructions

    Using IE Snap

  1. Step 1

    Download the trial version of IE Snap. To do so, visit the IE Snap web page (follow the link in Resources) and click on the "Download" link.

  2. Step 2

    Install the trial version of IE Snap.

  3. Step 3

    Open Internet Explorer.

  4. Step 4

    Go to the web page that you'll be making into a snapshot.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the "Tools" option at the top of the browser.

  6. Step 6

    Click "IE Snap." A dialog box will open. Choose a destination for your snapshot.

  7. Step 7

    Select "Save" and your snapshot will be saved.

  8. Using WebPageSnapshot

  9. Step 1

    Visit the WebPageSnapshot website. (Follow the link in Resources.) Download the demo version by clicking the "Download" link at the bottom of the page.

  10. Step 2

    Install the demo version of WebPageSnapshot.

  11. Step 3

    Visit the web page that you want to make into a snapshot.

  12. Step 4

    Copy the URL.

  13. Step 5

    Open the WebPageSnapshot program.

  14. Step 6

    Paste the URL into the "URL" text box in the program window. In the "File" text box, you can choose where to save the file.

  15. Step 7

    Click "Go" and the snapshot will be created. This may take about 30 seconds, depending on the website.

Tips & Warnings
  • As the name implies, IE Snap can only be used with Internet Explorer You will need to purchase these programs to use all of their facets. In the demo version, there will be a watermark for the Tonec website (where you download these programs) on each snapshot. The watermarks will not show up on snapshots taken with a purchased program.
