Step 1
One way of making a child occupied is to delegate a task for him to learn. Let him explore something new and fun. Guide your child to develop confidence and courage to overcome his fear. Train your child to overcome his fear in the dark. Let the door of his room open and assured him that there's nothing to be afraid of. When he sleep,leave the light on.

A child created in his mind an imaginary creature that made him feel afraid. Tell him that there's no such a thing. What he believed is only created in his mind. Don't tell him about any creatures just to stop him to be bothersome during your household chore. Don't use child's fear to control his behavior.

Don't let your child see programming in the TV that can boost his fear. Switch to a TV episode that are educational and confidence building. Monitor what he is reading. Don't allow him to read stories that can develop fear. There are many kind of stories that are interesting to read. Control what is best for the child when it comes to learning.

Let him expose to something he is afraid of. If he is afraid of a cat, then guide him to touch the pet. Repeated touching and caressing can overcome his fear and build courage to touch her again.
