Bouldering is always a great day of climbing. You can send multiple routes in a single day or practice extremely hard moves safely and close to the ground. Also, so that you don't have the extra weight and the problems that can occur from equipment.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rock shoes
  • Chalk and Chalk Bag
  • Bouldering pad
  • Friends
  • Compass
  1. Step 1

Find a place that you want to climb. If you have never bouldered before go to a gym and ask around, most climbers are willing to at least point you in the right direction.

  2. Step 2

Talk to the park district or the property owners, for access issues. As climbers we have the rare chance to govern are selves, do not stash pads, litter, cause more damage to the area around you than already done or than necessary.

  3. Step 3

Hike to your climbing area, throw your pad(s) down and start climbing. Always have a spotter and leave no trace. For an explination on how to be a spotter click on my how to spot a boulderer.

Tips & Warnings
  • As climbers we have the rare chance to govern are selves (for the most part) use your head, and leave no trace.
  • Pad stashing is a very serious problem, it is when you leave your pad at a bouldering/climbing area for a longer deration than you are there climbing. It is a bad practice, a danger to the environment and ignorant, leave no trace every day.
  • Boulders by nature seem to be the most adventurous climbers. They will move from boulder to boulder and venture far from the place where they first started. For this reason it is good to have a compass or a map.
  • Boulder just like regular climbing can potentially be a dangerous sport, always stick to trails and be careful. I do not take any responsibility for your actions.
