Jabsco is a company that manufactures small craft marine toilets, or toilets for your boat. Serving as one of the leading marine toilet manufacturers, Jabsco is dedicated to providing the public with the best ways of dealing with toilet waste. Jabsco provides an optional Twist 'n' Lock system to its line of toilets which restricts waste backflow. After use, simply turn the handle 90 degrees to close the opening tight. Twist it open again when the toilet is ready to be used again.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Jabsco toilet system 3/4-inch round slotted screws 1 1/4-inch socket wrench 2-inch stainless steel hex bolts Plastic flat washers Hex nuts Clear water hose 1/4-inch stainless steel bolts 3/4-inch hose 1 1/2-inch hose Metal clamps Vented loop
  1. Step 1

Put the base of your Jabsco toilet on a flat work surface. Make sure the drain plug is facing you. Locate the triangular pad on the base and place the triangular gasket onto it. Fasten the pump assembly to the base with three 3/4-inch round slotted screws.

  2. Step 2

Lay the toilet bowl upside down on the flat surface. Insert the spud assembly into the prefabricated hole located on the back of the bowl. Tighten the hex nut with a 1 1/4-inch socket or wrench, but not too tight.

  3. Step 3

Place the toilet bowl on the base. Make sure the bowl spud is facing away. From the bottom up, insert four 2-inch stainless steel hex bolts through the base and bowl. Secure the bolts with plastic flat washers and a hex nut and adequately tighten the bolts with your hand.

  4. Step 4

Insert a clear water hose between the top connection located on the back of the pump and the bowl elbow. Tighten the bowl fasteners after you align the bowl.

  5. Step 5

Attach the complete Jabsco toilet to the ground using 1/4-inch stainless steel bolts. Insert them through the prefab holes in the base right into the floor.

  6. Step 6

Locate the inlet fitting on the pump, which should be pointing diagonally downward, and attach a 3/4-inch hose. The inlet line is not to be used for water supply or drainage. Connect a 1 1/2-inch hose to the pump for discharging raw sewage. Clamp down both hoses securely to prevent leaking.

  7. Step 7

Install a vented loop between the Jabsco toilet and the holding tank, the overboard discharge seacock or the treatment system. Attach the vented loop at least 12 inches above the outside waterline.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can install your Jabsco toilet so the waste will discharge either overboard (check with your government's regulations), into a treatment system or into a holding tank on board the boat.
  • Your toilet system must withstand the movement and shock of marine use. The parts of the toilet system must be accessible for maintenance and repair.
