True Crime: New York City Xbox Game Guide

"True Crime: New York City," an action-adventure cop-crime video game title from publishing giant Activision, can be a fulfilling game full of fun and challenge. However, to access the true potential of the game, a number of secrets must be unlocked to get extra content and abilities. From puma outfits to special weaponry, there's an underworld of extras to uncover that can aid in the battle against the underbelly of society in True Crime. The trick to uncovering these extras, aside from collecting Puma shoes to unlock a new outfit, is the fulfillment of a number of detective ranks throughout the game. Reaching detective ranks 1 to 5 will result not only in a select few new rides, but also in the substantial widening of your weaponry choices.

Instructions

1. Complete all aspects of the game. Upon this full completion, Redman will contact your character for a meeting. Finding him will reveal a new minigame, "Redman Gone Wild," which you can then begin to play.

2. Collect all 10 pairs of Puma shoes throughout the game to unlock and wear the Puma outfit. These shoes are hidden around the city in "True Crime: New York." Upon collecting all of the Puma shoes, a trip to the Puma shoe store will provide the new clothing.

3. Achieve the initial rank of detective to gain access to the 6.5 L V8 Custom SUV. Upon reaching this level, three new weapons will become available for use: the 7.62 auto sniper, 5.5 6mm carbine, and the FlashBang accessory.

4. Earn the level of rank 2 detective to unlock the 5.4 L SC V8 coupe. Also on tap upon reaching rank 2 are a number of tactical weapons, including the 5.56 mm bullpup AR, the sledgehammer, the tactical shotgun and the .45 special.

5. Rise to the level of rank 3 detective to unlock the 2.5 L L4 sedan. Once you achieve the rank of level 3 detective, the 5.56 assault rifle, 4.6 mm PDW, stunt baton and tranquilizer gun will be available.

6. Achieve the level of rank 4 detective to uncover the 6.0 L V8 Coupe. If you reach the level of rank 4 detective, the 9 mm SMG, standard shotgun and stun guns will all become available throughout the game levels.

7. Reach the rank 5 detective level to unlock the 3.5 L V6 Sedan. Also, this status will provide the ability to utilize a number of weapons and utilities, including the beanbag shotgun, caltrops, flashlight and .45 ACP.
