Things You'll Need:
- Salt
- Water
- Glass
- Eyedropper
-
Step 1
If you suffer from sinus headaches then start with:
A gentle washing of the face and eyes. If you can, fill the wash basin with water and salt and take your washcloth and your favorite cleanser and wash. Your face will be smooth and soft and the sinus area will begin to release build-up. -
Step 2
Place an eye soother that is filled with lavender, wintergreen, or eucalyptus over your eyes for about 10 minutes.
-
Step 3
When you suffer from general sinus congestion or from a cold or flu these will help:
Reduce intake of dairy products, processed sugars, and heavy meat to reduce the congestion during times when you have a cold or flu. These items all increase congestion. -
Step 4
Boil some water and place in large bowl or basin and place face area a few inches from the steam and cover the head with a towel. This will help release the stuck mucous. Add lavender or eucalyptus oil to the water for additional relief.
-
Step 5
4. Get an eyedropper and an 8 ounce glass of warm water filled with a tablespoon of salt. Fill the eye dropper with the mixed solution. Tilt your head, to one side, over the sink and release the solution from the dropper into the nostril. This will drip out the other nostril and continue to do this at least 5 times or until the nostril release the congestion. Then do this same technique to clear the other nostrtil.

on 6/3/2009 Good advice on limiting dairy intake. I suffer from allergies and sinus congestion on a fairly regular basis. I find that reducing my dairy consumption reduces the severity of my allergy symptoms.
