When you think of clothing from thrift stores or consignment shops, many people think of old, worn out ,ugly clothes. That isn't always the case. If you're on a budget, you need to find ways of saving money, and clothing can be a huge expense if you're not careful. Here are some tips for finding nice used clothing at consignment and thrift stores.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take your time. The best way to find the nicer clothing is just to go through all of the racks in the store for your size and gender. It can take a while! Be patient. Take several hours to look around.

  2. Step 2

Go in the mornings, after the weekends especially. Many people donate on weekends, and you will want to find the best stuff before it's gone. Right after the new donations have been put out in the morning is a good time to look.

  3. Step 3

Find the best thrift stores. Go to nicer neighborhoods, where the donators most likely have more expensive, nicer types of clothing.
