Engine Block

For people who love their cars, they are extremely disappointed to find their engine block cracked or damaged. Although if you have fairly new cars, replacements are somewhat easy to find. But for people with vintage cars, fixing it may be the only way to go. In this guide, we will try a technique called metal stitching or metal locking. This technique is easier, quicker, and a lot cheaper than welding.
Unless you are a master welder, I would recommend you trying this method.

Things You'll Need

  • Metal Stitching kit
  • patience

Instructions

    • 1

Find the area where the crack is. Once you find it, crack out your kit.

    • 2

Take out your "stitch" or "lock". Place it in the crack using a hammer, torque wrench, or drill bit.

    • 3

Some metal stitching kits require an adhesive. If your kit provides one, apply it to the lock so it remains in place.

    • 4

Continue filling the crack with the stitches and adhesives until the crack becomes fully closed.

Tips & Warnings

  • It may just be easier to pay someone to fix your crack for you

  • Remeber to remain calm and patient

  • Be careful with working on your car if you are not experienced

  • Never allow small children to work on a project like this with you
