Step 1
Practice with or without your putter. If you practice with a putter, use the putter that you will be using on the golf course. Also practice with a ball.
-
Step 2
Stand with feet parallel about six to eight inches apart. You want to feel comfortable whenever you address the ball to putt it. In more windy conditions place feet shoulder width apart for a more stable stance. The wind can throw you off balance if your feet are not firmly placed and can negatively effect your golfing score.
-
Step 3
Place the ball on the ground just a few inches out from your toes (really whatever feels the most comfortable for you as it relates to ease of putting the ball). Bend over comfortably and look at the back of the ball. To make sure your eyes are directly over the ball, imagine an invisible line that stretches down between the bridge of your nose and the ball on the ground. The invisible line should be touching the back of the ball.
-
Step 4
Practice this stance as often as possible. Make yourself comfortable with this stance. Practicing your stance will help you learn to sink more putts!

on 1/15/2009 I need to start practicing. My older children and husband all have good techniques going for them. I am still pitiful at even the Wii golf.
