Make Nontraditional Barbequed Meatballs

These meatballs are not your basic 'cook in bbq sauce' meatballs. They are very tasty for old and young and can be served as an appetizer or even the main course!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • package frozen meatballs
  • small jar grape jelly
  • jar of mild salsa
  1. Step 1

Place whole package of frozen meatballs into a dutch oven pan. You can make homemade meatballs if you wish, the frozen ones are just easier if you're on a time crunch.

  2. Step 2

Pour entire jar of salsa over meatballs in pan. Be sure to use SALSA, not taco SAUCE.

  3. Step 3

Drop spoonfuls of the grape jelly onto the meatball and salsa mixture. Place the spoonfuls of jelly in various places throughout the pan until the whole jar has been used.

  4. Step 4

Heat the pan and contents to boiling, stirring frequently and using spoon to "squish" the jelly lumps down.

  5. Step 5

Reduce heat to medium-low, stirring occasionally. Keep squishing down the jelly and stirring it around to liquify it.

  6. Step 6

Meatballs are done when they are completely warm throughout. Can be kept on simmer-lo for a few hours if needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • This can also be made in the crockpot if you have a whole day to let it simmer.
