This "how to" will Microsoft excel 2003 password protection for a workbook,worksheet and range of data. If you are interested in password protection options for Microsoft excel 2007 please go to the end of the article and follow the link that I have added for that.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    In order to protect your Microsoft excel worksheet go to TOOLs menu select PROTECTION. From there you should see a menu like the picture on your left.

    From there you will be given a series of options that will allow you to protect a Microsoft excel worksheet, workbook or a range on your specific file. As you can see from the image on your left you can get very granular with this.

  3. Step 3

    Make your appropriate adjustments and then click OK. You should be prompted to retype the password. Once that is done make sure you save your changes and close the document and reopen it to see if your password took.
