How to Create Orange Rooms

Orange rooms might seem overwhelming at first. For this reason, you may be hesitant to decorate with orange even if it's your favorite color. Orange has recently made a huge splash in decorating. There is a way to have an orange room that won't burn your retinas.

1. Explore the spectrum of orange. There are many shades of orange from terra cotta to bright orange. Some people also define brown as deep orange. When picking out an orange paint color, go more brown than you think you want. It will probably look brighter on the wall.

2. Neutralize. Use white curtains & a soft white rug to tone down the orange color. This will give the eye a place to rest & it will really make the orange pop. Instead of making an entire orange room, just use a few splashes of color for a fresh look that isn't overwhelming.

3. Make it the focal point. Since orange pops out at you, let it do its job. Orange is a great way to add an inexpensive focal point if a room doesn't have an outstanding feature like a fireplace.

4. Accessorize with orange. If you are too scared to commit to orange long term just add in brightly colored vases or a throw. This is also a fantastic way to warm up a white apartment if you can't paint the walls.
