Things You'll Need:
- A design project
- A photograph
- An imaging program like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
-
Step 1
Image used to generate color palette/Ethel PowersCreate a jpeg copy of your photo or illustration. The photograph is a cover for an annual report. Its native form is .psd which is a Photoshop document. It was saved in jpeg format, which is a universal image that any computer can open and view.
-
Step 2
To generate your palette at DeGraeve.com, you need to host your image at an online storage site like Photobucket or Flickr. It must be in jpeg format. Go to your storage site and copy the URL of your image. Paste the URL into the Color-Palette-ify. When it has been uploaded, colors that are generated from your picture or drawing will show.
-
Step 3
To generate your palette at Color Hunter, all you need is a jpeg of your image stored on your computer. You can then simply "browse" to find and upload it.
-
Step 4
Both sources generate colors from your uploaded work. The colors will have identifying numbers so they can be found in your color picker, within your image program.
-
Step 5
The colors you see were generated from the picture to the right of them. This is a composite of the project. Use the colors for text, backgrounds and supporting images throughout your project.
