How to Calculate the Value of Your US Series EE Savings Bond

United States Series EE Savings Bonds are a popular gift for special occasions. They can be purchased in person for half the maturity value or online for the full maturity value. Which ever way you choose, you can't tell the current value of a US Series EE Savings Bond purchased prior to May 1, 2005 by looking at it. You must either take the bond to a bank and have them calculate the value for you or follow the simple steps below to go online and find out for yourself.
