Learn how to easily remove unattractive paper and print-ruboff stains without damaging the varnish on your furnature. Best of all, you already have what you need in your house!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

For smaller areas, using a cotton ball works best. Simply dip the cotton in alcohol, and squeeze out remaining alcohol. Gently rub the cotton over the stain in a circular pattern. If at first there is no improvement, you can apply more pressure.

  2. Step 2

Continue the circular motions over the stain until it disappears. It will work! I've done this several times. The varnish will be untouched.

  3. Step 3

For larger areas, use a light, soft cloth. Pour a bit of alcohol on the cloth, but do not saturate it! Work the cloth in the same fashion as you would the cotton ball. If stains aren't coming off well, add a little alcohol at a time until the stains start easily coming off. The process does not take long at all, and your furniture will look great-there will be no signs of the original stain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Test an inconspicuous area of the furniture before applying the alcohol to the stained area. Although I have never had a problem, some varnished may react differently.
  • Remember not to apply too much pressure. Too much rubbing pressure could harm the varnish.
