Nursing pads can be very costly. Here is an easy and cost efficient way to make them yourself. You will save money and help save the environment too.These make perfect gifts for any expecting mom. These nursing pads are made of 100% soft and cozy cotton flannel. These instructions are for washable and resuable nursing pads but you can make them leakproof by adding PUL as an inner. Be creative and use whatever you think feels comfortable next to your skin.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardboard cutout that is approx. 4 to 4 1/2 inch diameter.
  • 4 to 5 layers of cotton flannel
  • sewing machine or serger
  1. Step 1

    Gather your materials. For the cutout pattern you can use posterboard or anything that is good for tracing patterns.

  2. Step 2

    Use the cardboard cutout pattern and trace along the fabric. To get the 4-4 1/2 inch (or 5 inch) diameter shape you can use a small bowl or cup and trace.

  3. Step 3

    Cut out the pattern then serge around the edges or if you have a sewing machine use a zizag stitch to close the ends.

Tips & Warnings
  • use can also add wool, cotton batting, or PUL as inners to make them leakprook.
  • use whatever fabric materials as the outer materials such as chenile, cotton, or fleece (whatever you think feels good close to your skin.)
