How to Bake Cookies with only 5 Ingredients (German Cookies)

These cookies aren't really sweet, unless you want them in more sugar. Sweetness has never been a must-have factor for making certain German dessert recipe. You can always experiment by adding more sugar or topping icing on the cookies.
German cookies contains a lot of butter.
Follow steps below.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups of flour
  • 3/4 cups of sugar
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Baking board
  • Sifter
  • Cookie cutters (optional)
  • Rolling pin
  1. Step 1

    Cut butter into pieces. Sift flour onto the baking board. Pour the Vanilla Extract onto the flour and sprinkle sugar on top. Scatter the cut butter on the flour. Crack the eggs and pour on the flour.

    Mix all the ingredients by hand and knead into a smooth dough. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin into about a 1/2-inch thick sheet.

    Use cookie cutters, or roll and flatten the by hand into circle shapes.

  4. Step 4

    Place the shaped cookie dough on top of a greased cookie sheet. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. Step 5

    Remove and let cool on wire rack. Cover the leftovers so they stay fresh.
