  • Liquid dishwashing detergent
  • Bucket
  • Rag
  • Bleach
  • Baking soda

      Mix a couple drops of liquid dishwashing detergent with some warm water in a bucket. Dip a rag in the soapy water, wring it out and thoroughly clean the rubber gasket around the door.

      Clean the detergent dispenser with the rag. If it is removable, take it out to clean it. If not, clean it as best you can inside the washer.

      Run a cycle with the hot water setting. Add 1 cup of bleach to the wash tub. If any mold or a musty smell remains, run another cycle, this time adding 1 cup of baking soda, which should alleviate the problem.
