Things You'll Need:
- credit card
- cash
- good credit
- computer
- laptop
-
Step 1
The most important thing before buying a printer for your computer is to know your computer operating system.
-
Step 2
Decide if your printer will be used with a PC (personal computer) or a laptop. While almost every printer is compatible with all computers and laptops, you may find that one is easier to use than the other. For example, perhaps you are interested in a portable printer or a wireless printer. Some printers have scanners and fax machines built in as well. You do not want to get talked into a high priced printer with computer accessories that you really don't need.
-
Step 3
If you are buying your printer and all of its accessories and components at the same place, chances are you can haggle the price down on your printer or even get it free.
-
Step 4
Use the internet to search the best price on the computer printer or laptop printer before walking into a store. Some stores actually have better prices online than they do inside the store! Unbelievable but true. To make the deal even sweeter, some of these online stores actually have free shipping!
-
Step 5
When buying at a store, be sure to know how much the printer and all of the printer accessories will cost at other stores even if they are not in the area. Why? Because some stores actually have a policy where they will match or beat any advertised price. Some stores will even have a policy that if you find it cheaper anywhere else after you purchase it, it is free! Yep, can you imagine that one!
-
Step 6
Check all the online coupon sites for discount coupons that can be used in stores and online. You never know what you might find. Also, get the Sunday paper and check for special deals and coupons that you may not be able to find anywhere else.
-
Step 7
Some stores will give you a discount if you get their credit card. The only way this discount will actually save you money is if you pay your balance in full. If you don't pay off that balance immediately, you've lost your discount and may actually wind up paying more for it! If you have good credit, that is great. If you have bad credit or no credit, you may not be eligible for a store credit card.

on 1/6/2009 I like your ideas here; my printers always flake out on me way before the pc does. I like the option of getting ANOTHER credit card, SCORE! 5*
