How to Play The Perfect 10 Card Game
The Perfect 10 Card Game borrows many rules from the Old Maid card game. Unlike Old Maid though, the player that ends up with the unmatched card is not the loser. Instead that player receives bonus points. This allows the player to be rewarded for lasting longer in a hand of The Perfect 10 Card Game instead of being penalized for lasting until the end of the hand.

1
Find a group of friends to play The Perfect 10 Card Game. The minimum number of players is two and the maximum number of players is five. The ideal number of players is either three or four for The Perfect 10 Card Game.
-
2
Remove all of the 10s except for the 10 of clubs, then deal out the deck one card at a time to all of the players at the table. Some players might have more cards than other players at the table, and this is OK.
-
-
3
Direct each player to place any pairs he has face up in front of him, and then select the player sitting to the left of the dealer to take the first turn. Pairs are any cards that have both the same face value and the same color--red or black.
-
4
Tell the player on her turn to display all of her cards to her opponent sitting to her left. Her opponent does not see the face value of the cards; she sees only the decorative, or back, side of the cards. That player takes one card and adds it to her hand. If it forms a pair, she places the pair in front of her face up.
-
5
Continue taking turns in this manner in a clockwise rotation around the table. If a player is out of cards, that player is no longer part of this hand of The Perfect 10 Card Game. Eventually only one player will be left, and he will be holding the 10 of clubs. This is when the hand ends and the round is scored.
-
6
Award 10 points to each player for any pair that she has composed of 10s or higher up through aces. Pairs with a face value below 10 are each worth five points. The player with the 10 of clubs in her hand receives a bonus of 25 points.
-
7
Total the points for each player with previous rounds if this is not the first round. Collect the cards and deal a new hand if no player has 500 points. The first player to score 500 points wins the game, if two players pass 500 points on the same hand, the player with the higher total wins.

Tips & Warnings
When presenting your cards to an opponent to choose a card, make sure they are fanned out so your opponent has a choice of choosing a card from all of your cards and you won't be accused of cheating.
Playing this game with just two players is possible, but it is both a logistical challenge and rather boring. Remember, you must fan out up to 25 cards at the beginning of the hand in a two-player game to allow your opponent to choose. Two-player games result in a large number of pairs after the deal, before the play of the hand begins.
