Instructions

    • 1

Unwrap both the cream cheese and the butter and allow them to sit in the bowl until they are softened and room temperature. This step will improve the consistency of your frosting and make mixing much easier.

    • 2

Beat the cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer until well blended.

    • 3

Add the tsp of vanilla at this time and continue mixing.

    • 4

The confectioners' sugar should be added 1/2 cup at a time, mixing each half cup completely into the mixture before adding more. Once all the sugar has been added and your frosting is uniform in appearance, you're ready to frost!

    • 5

This frosting has a strong cream cheese flavor. If it is too tart for your tastes then you can simply add another cup of confectioners' sugar. You can also add more sugar if you would like a thicker frosting or you can add a bit of milk to thin it out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you allow the cream cheese and butter to soften to room temperature! It's very important.

  • This is not meant to be a stiff, decorator icing.
