Things You'll Need:
- Razor scraper specifically designed for glass-topped stoves
- Glass/ceramic cook-top cleaner
- Scotch-brite, blue sponge
- Water & paper towels
- Elbow grease
-
Step 1
non scratch spongesCleaning your ceramic stove top's surface does not have to send you reeling. By following a few, simple steps, you will have it sparkling in no time! Start with a no-scratch, scotch-brite, blue sponge. Reserve this sponge solely for cleaning the stove top.
-
Step 2
smooth-top-friendly productsNext, squirt a bit of the glass cook-top cleaner (available at home-improvement stores, grocery stores or Bed, Bath, and Beyond) directly onto the stove top's surface. Don't worry, this cleanser is strong, yet gentle. It will clean, polish, and condition your smooth top range. Using the wet sponge, scrub the top and wipe off with a paper towel.
-
Step 3
Scrape the residueIf you have baked-on spills, break out the razor-blade, filled scraper. Don't be nervous, these were designed specifically for this purpose. You won't cut or damage the glass top in any way by using this tool aggressively on its surface. Put some elbow grease into scraping down the spills to remove them fully. Add more cleaner if necessary, rinse sponge as necessary and wipe completely dry. You can purchase extra razor blades to switch out the old ones whenever necessary; this is an awesome, must-have tool for all smooth-top stove owners!

on 9/22/2009 Glass/Ceramic stove tops look beautiful when they are shiney and clean. I find that I get the best results from using 2 microfiber cloths, one wet and one dry. I can usually find them at the dollar store.
