Things You'll Need:
- heavy cream
- icing or confectioners sugar
- vanilla extract
- whisk and metal bowl or electric mixer and metal bowl or stand mixer with whisk attachment
-
Step 1
Place the cream in the bowl you will be beating. Place it in the freezer for 5 minutes.
-
Step 2
Once removed from the freezer, begin beating it immediately. Note that when cream is cold, it beats very quickly; about one minute by hand and less with a stand mixer and more with a hand mixer. If you want stiffer peaks, it will take more time and soft peaks.
-
Step 3
Sweeten using confectioner’s or icing sugar for a grit free whipped cream and one with more lift as there is cornstarch in this type of sugar.
-
Step 4
For added flavor, add in ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract per one cup of cream, prior to whipping
