Step 1
Vegan LA is a great but not comprehensive source of information about vegan restaurants in Los Angeles, including bakeries and late night eateries. The site also has information about vegan grocery store items. It is the best place to get up to date information, including new openings, closings and changes to existing restaurants and bakeries. The forums are a great place to ask questions and get a quick response.

Step 2
Happy Cow is a guide to vegetarian restaurants and health food stores worldwide. Just type in your zip code and it will pull up a list of vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants nearby.
-
Step 3
The VegGuide has a huge alphabetical listing of restaurants that claim to be vegan-friendly. Be careful with this list, though. Not all of the restaurants on it are as vegan-friendly as they would like you to believe.

Step 4
For reviews of vegan restaurants in Los Angeles, see the blogs Quarry Girl and To Live and Eat in L.A.

on 3/2/2009 Ditto what LilacGirl said! This truly is a fantastic article--you don't have to go searching all over the Internet for info on vegan restaurant guides, because it's all right here. Thanks for making it so easy to find vegan spots!
