Mince Garlic

Garlic, in addition to making your meals more tasty, has many proven health benefits. Using it is easy if you know how to mince garlic.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • garlic cloves
  • knife or garlic press
  1. Step 1

Use the heel of your palm to press firmly against the head of the garlic to free the individual cloves.

  2. Step 2

Take each clove and peel it. Press down on the clove with the side of your knife to release the clove from the skin and then use your knife to make sure all of the skin has been removed.

  3. Step 3

If you are using a garlic press, place the whole peeled garlic clove into the press and squeeze. You will get beautifully minced garlic.

  4. Step 4

If you're using a knife to mince, press against the peeled clove with the side of your knife until it is soft. You can then use your knife in a regular back and forth motion to chop the clove until it is fine. You may then use your minced garlic to cook anything you like.

Tips & Warnings
  • As with any cooking exercise, use cation when cutting with sharp knives.
