Tired of ants in your kitchen? Use this home remedy to rid ants permanently!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lemons
  1. Step 1

Cut a lemon in half. Bring the lemon to room temperature and roll it under your palm onto the counter for about thirty seconds. This process breaks up tissue inside the lemon and provides for much more released juice. (As a side note: this same process works great for oranges too.)

  2. Step 2

Next, squeeze lemon juice in all windowsills and doors. If possible, locate the entry point in which the ants are coming inside. Pour lemon juice down any holes and cracks they are using to enter your kitchen. Mixing lemons with about two gallons of water can also be used as a great mopping solution and will not only deter ants, but roaches and fleas as well!

  3. Step 3

Lastly you will take the remaining peels and any leftover juice and place them outside your home. Peels within a foot or two of the door will let ants know they are not welcome in you house.

on 6/20/2009 I tried this and it didn't work, seems they liked the lemon. I heard putting out corn meal will kill them, going to try it.
