Many of us love the old Super Nintendo gaming system; however, not many have the system anymore. This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to get and play Super Nintendo games on your computer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing you will need is the emulating program, called ZSNES. Click on the appropriate link (depending on what your Operating System is), located in the "Resources" section of this article. This will automatically start the download of the ZSNES program.

  2. Step 2
    Super Mario War

Once downloaded, extract the file and install it as you would with any other program. Once installed, run ZSNES by double-clicking the "zsnesw" icon. When the program loads, click Config > Input. You can now set different keys and game controls by clicking the boxes and pressing the corresponding key on the keyboard. Once you have done this, close the Input window.

  3. Step 3
    Super Nintendo Controller

You now have the emulator set up to work (think of it as the game system). Now you will need to download some Roms (the actual games the system will run). Click the link located in the "Resources" section to find Roms. Find a game that you would like to play, and click it, then follow instructions to download. Once downloaded, you will need to use 7-zip (if you don't have this program, the link is provided in the "Resources" section of this article so that you can download that) to unzip the file.

  4. Step 4

Unzip the files with 7-zip to any location where you are able to store all your games. Game files are generally small and don't take up too much space. After the files are unzipped, open ZSNES. Once open, click Game > Load. Locate and select the rom files you unzipped, and click Load. The game will now begin!
