Make Bird Soap Molds
Make Bird Soap Molds

In this how to you will learn how to make a bird soap mold.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • polymer clay
  • clay modeling tools
  • oven
  • fine grit sandpaper
  • mold box
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do is grab a piece of clay that is the size of the soap you would like to make and start making it look like a bird with those modeling tools. Another way to do this if you have limited artistic ability is to search a craft shop for a bird figurine that is the shape and size of the soap you want to make.

  2. Step 2

You are now done molding your bird figurine so you need to put it in the oven according to your clay's packaging instructions as times vary by brand and cook it till it's nice and hard. If you bought the bird figurine instead, have a cup of tea and get ready for the next step.

  3. Step 3

Fill your mold box evenly with clay and press your bird into the clay hard enough to make a good, detailed impression. Be careful not to break your bird!

  4. Step 4

Once you are satisfied with the impression, thank the little bird and put him aside and remove the clay from your mold box. Bake your newly formed mold and glaze it when hard.

  5. Step 5

Now you have a lovely little bird mold to use for soap making. Be sure to use some sort of nonstick coating that will not melt in your mold before pouring in your soap.
