Things You'll Need:
- Patience, mood enhancing music, mood enhancing foods.
-
Step 1
Make a conscious decision to be cheerful and stay in a good mood. Smile often at the mirror, at people. Laugh at yourself. Do not take things too seriously.
-
Step 2
Surround yourself by positive people and positive thoughts. Plan fun activities, maybe some related to the Season, such as ice-skating or watching Holiday classics on DVD or TV.
-
Step 3
If you find yourself alone, make the best out of that time. Exercise, read a book, update your calendar, answer your emails, start a new hobby. This is also a great time to count your blessings and acknowledge how lucky you are to be in this wonderful World. Think about the less fortunate and maybe pick a charity of your choice to donate your time, money, toys, clothes or other items. Nothing beats the feeling of helpfulness that this activity provides.
-
Step 4
This may be a great time to start a tradition. One that you could pass along to future generations. Plant a tree, join a choir, volunteer passing food to the homeless. Any activity that could help you get out of the house and see the true meaning of the Season would do wonders to beat the blues.
-
Step 5
Commit to be happy and the rest will come. Sometimes it takes practice but these activities could serve you for the rest of your life. Staying happy and upbeat should be a life long decision and one that we should all practice.
Happy Holidays!!
