How to Make House Guests Feel Welcome
If you have house guests coming to stay in your home, what will you do to be sure they feel welcome? Here are some ideas that will help even a finicky guest enjoy their visit.
Things You'll Need

1
Create space for your guests. Clear the room your house guests will use of as many unnecessary items as you can. If the room is normally used by another person, removed enough clothes from the closet to allow the guest a reasonable space.
-
2
Prepare the room: Clean thoroughly. Wash all bedding, clean any windows or mirrors, ceiling fans, and light fixtures. If it is in the budget, purchase one or two new bed pillows. These can be purchased at www.kmart.com or www.walmart.com very reasonably. (Walmart.com now has a site to store policy where you will not be charged shipping) If you have pets, temporarily keep them out of the room your guests will use.

Final room details can include adding a colorful throw pillow or two to freshen the room. Leave clean towels for your guests in the room, along with a dish of guest soaps. Have a dish of wrapped mints on the dresser. Place an alarm clock or clock radio in the room. If possible, add a TV, DVD player, movies, and some newer magazines. If you have an extra computer, put it in the guest room. Not everyone travels with their personal computer.

When your guests arrive, have refreshments available. Let guests know where beverages and snacks are, and that they should help themselves.
-
6
When guests leave, be sure to express how you enjoyed the visit. Welcome them to return again. Don't promise to visit them where they live if you don't intend to.
