Replace the FLINT in a ZIPPO LIGHTER
Replace the FLINT in a ZIPPO LIGHTER

Your Zippo lighter stopped sparking or the wheel is jammed. That means you need a new flint , It is easy to replace.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • New Flints
  • Small screw driver
  1. Step 1

    If your ZIPPO lighter does not spark any more or the spark wheel is jammed. It probablly just needs a new flint.

  2. Step 2

    Go to most any smoke shop & buy a pack of flints. sometimes these flints are hard to find. Ask the dude at the smoke shop if they have them. Sometimes they are kept behind the counter

  3. Step 3

    Remove the inner lighter from the outer case by gently pulling it upward.

  4. Step 4

    On the bottom of the inner lighter there is a small screw.

  5. Step 5

    Remove this screw & the attached spring.

  6. Step 6

    Gently tap the lighter to see if there are any small pieces of the old flint still in the lighter.

  7. Step 7

    Put a new flint into the hole & replace the spring & screw. Do not over tighten it. I always just use my fingers to tighten this screw.

  8. Step 8

    Slide the inner lighter back into the outter caes & check to see if it works.

  9. Step 9

    If it sparks but does not light , you most likely need lighter fluid

  10. Step 10

    If the spark wheel is still stuck. Send it back to ZIPPO. They will repair it for FREE
