Things You'll Need:
- Screw Driver
- Wire Cutter
- Few Minutes

Step 1
The first thing you need to do is determine what kind of central vacuum wall inlet you have, electric or non-electric. Most central vacuum systems will use a non-electric inlet. You can tell an electric wall inlet by the amount of wires running to it. Electric wall inlets will have 2 seperate sets of wires and will have 2 small openings above the large opening for the hose.
-
Step 2
Next, you will need to remove the inlet. This is easily done by removing the two screws on the inlet. This will allow you to pull the inlet off the wall so you can remove the wires. If you are changing an electric inlet you should turn off the breaker. Simply disconnect the wires from behind the old inlet and connect them to the screw-posts on the new inlet.

Step 3
After you screw down the screw-posts to secure the wires, simply line the wall inlet back up and screw the two screws back on. Just that easy.
