Things You'll Need:
- Patience and a bit of money up front
-
Step 1
First you will need some documents with you for proof of I.D at the auction. Without these you will not be able to buy any autos. A driving liscence or passport will be OK.
-
Step 2
You now need to find your nearest auction. A quick search on the internet will provide you with sites like www.auctioncarused.com which will help you find the best auctions.
-
Step 3
Once you have found your auction, you need to get there a couple of hours early to look over all of the vehicles. If you do not know much about autos the it would be a good idea to hire a mechanic for a couple of hours to make sure that you will not bid on a dud.
-
Step 4
Now that you know which vehicle you want, you will need to get registered with the auction. They will give you a number that will hold up to bid with. Before you start bidding check the guide price for the vehicle in the Kelly blue book so that you don't pay over the odds for the vehicle. Also check the VIN number of the car to make sure that money is still owed on it.
-
Step 5
Start bidding!
If you win your bid, you will need to pay the full amount that you have bid for the car on the day.
Now enjoy your new car!
