How to Clean Your Computer Of Spyware Threats

If your computer regularly has a difficult time booting up or the internet is unusually slow, try following this guide to clean your computer of spyware.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to find is a spyware deleting program. We've all seen advertisements for various programs, but some may actually do more harm than they help. Remember, you should never EVER pay for a spyware detection program. If you do, you have been scammed. There are countless free programs that work much better than the pay programs.

  2. Step 2

I suggest looking into Lavasoft's AdAware program. It is reliable and is updated almost every day with new spyware definitions. New definitions are needed so that your program stays up to date with new spyware threats. Otherwise, after the first use, it would be pointless to use the program again because you'd just be searching for the same spyware.

  3. Step 3

Update your definitions daily no matter what program you download. Each and every scan should be preceded by an update. Even if there is nothing new to download, it is a good idea to check and make sure. I recommend running a scan either every day or every few days, depending on how much you use your internet. This will keep your computer safe and clean from spyware and adware.
