Anything can happen when you're in the car. There is no doubt about that. It is important to be prepared for the worst, just in case. You never know when you need something that could possibly save your life or someone you love. Here is how to prepare yourself, and your vehicle.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Effort
  • A little money
  • Car insurance
  • Cell phone
  • A vehicle...duh.
  1. Step 1

Make sure that you have proper insurance on your vehicle. If your vehicle gets damaged, or if you damage another vehicle, you will want to make sure that it is covered. After all, it's illegal to be uninsured!

  2. Step 2

Always carry a cell phone with you at all times. You never know when you will need to call the police, a paramedic, or the fire department. This step is very important and could save your life!

  3. Step 3

Get a small water proof container to collect emergency items in. Keep this container in your vehicle, and have it ready at all times. Put things like bandages, rubbing alcohol or peroxide (make sure that these cannot leak), pocket knife, compass, map of the area, crank flash light, bottled water, and high energy snacks.

  4. Step 4

Always keep a blanket, working jack, jumper cables, spare tire, flares, and leak proof boots, handy as well. Also, make sure that you know how to use these things.

  5. Step 5

Always check the oil and filter, brakes, windshield wipers, antifreeze, battery, and tires before going on any trips.

Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps.
