How to Celebrate New Year's Day WITHOUT a Hangover

HUNGOVER!!
HUNGOVER!!
hangoverremedy.wordpress.com

With New Year's Eve, usually involves partying. Partying often involves drinking alcohol. And, although abstinence is the one preventative answer, here are a few tips that will minimize the next day's misery:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a plan to drink without suffering a hangover
  1. Step 1

Alcohol cause dehydration. So, the day of the partying, you should make sure to drink at least 32 oz of water (tea, coffee, soda doesn't count)---you don't need and shouldn't drink this all at once. ..just four 8 oz glasses@ mealtime and prior to leaving for the party.

  2. Step 2

Choose your drinks carefully. There are dirty with toxic impurities, which will only make you sicker (rum, brandy, cognac), and those which are purer (vodka is cleanest because it's composed of pure alcohol and water). Go for purer and lessen the hangover.

  3. Step 3

Try to moderate, pace yourself. If you have a fresh drink every 60 minutes or so--add a few ounces of water in between drinks. it will help with hydration, as well as cut down on your total alcohol consumption. If you drink more than 2 drinks, EAT!

  4. Step 4

Vitamins DO help! Alcohol will deplete your system of Vit B. So, take a B-complex viamin supplement--and at least 100mg of Thiamine to counter the depletion.

Tips & Warnings
  • Drinking may be fun, but a hangover is NOT!
  • Avoid becoming drunk, which leaves you vulnerable to many problems, socially and medically.

on 12/29/2008 Excellent advice. If you drink a quart of water right before bed after drinking too much, it does help a lot, and drink water as soon as you wake up. If you didn't actually give yourself alcohol poisoning, this should help a lot. It would be nice if nobody needed this advice, but you know some people will, so thanks for a timely lifesaver of an article! 5 stars.
