Things You'll Need:
- Pen and Paper
- 10 Minutes
-
Step 1
For the next 5 minutes, ask yourself "What do I want?" Allow yourself to dream. Don't worry about how the impossible will become possible. Just imagine the form this dream will take. Imagine the experience you will have. Smell it, taste it, feel it, whatever is appropriate, Just dream.
-
Step 2
Now, capture the dream on paper. Write it down.
For example, I see my house in the mountains. There is snow on the ground. Inside smells like a fire. My kids are playing a game upstairs. -
Step 3
Ask yourself, "Who would I have to be in order to make this happen?" Would you have to be more outgoing, risk taking, confident, grateful, hopeful, positive, grounded or focused? Write it down.
For example, I would have to be optimistic. -
Step 4
Ask yourself, "What's getting in my way of having this right now?" Write it down. What's the opposite of that idea? Write it down.
For example, what's getting in the way is fear and the opposite is courage. -
Step 5
Now, you're ready for your affirmation. This is going to be a positive statement that you say everyday until this dream becomes real. It will keep you focused on your goal. This statement will be in present tense.
For example, "My house in the mountains is mine fueled by my optimism and courage!"
