-
Step 1
Bookmark the Google Adwords Keyword Tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. To get there easily, type "keyword tool" at the Google homepage and select the first website listed.
-
Step 2
Type in words or phrases that might fit well into your article. Enter the Captcha code and click "get keyword ideas". Check the list to see which words will get the most traffic or highest PPC (pay-per-click). Use the "choose columns to display" sidebar to control lists.
-
Step 3
Pay special attention to monthly search volume, advertiser competition, and estimated average CPC (cost-per-click). Pick one optimal word or phrase from the list. Use this in your title and first sentence, then sprinkle it throughout the rest of the article.
-
Step 4
Make sure your chosen word or phrase is constant throughout the article. "Google Adwords Keyword Tool" and "Google Adwords: Keywords Tool" will not register as common phrases because an extra "s" and colon have been added to the second one.
-
Step 5
Search google.com/trends for the highest searched subjects daily. Combine this with help you get from the Adwords Keyword Tool, and your page views will start increasing before long. Best of all, your ad click revenue should grow right along with website traffic.
