The disciplining of young children is a bone of contention in our society. The truth remains that, without direction and discipline, our children will lose their bearings in life. The training of children is a non-negotiable essence of parenthood. However, you have to go about discipline with tact and tenacity.

Things You'll Need:

  • Understanding your child
  • Better ways of training
  1. Step 1

    LEAD BY EXAMPLE

The best way you can teach your child is to have him/her see you do things. You must watch whatever you do at home. Your child will mimic everything you do.

  2. Step 2

    REWARD GOOD BEHAVIOR

Well-behaved children must be given rewards. Ill-behaved children should be ignored in public and spanked in private. You cannot afford to have a child run your house.

  3. Step 3

PROMISE PUNISHMENT FOR BAD BEHAVIOR AND STICK TO IT

When you have a lot of children, you must follow through with threats of punishment. Anything less will produce a breakdown of discipline. Use older children to mentor young ones.

  4. Step 4

INVOLVE CHILDREN IN YOUR HOME ACTIVITIES

Having your children around you whenever you are working. This shows them the amount of time and effort that goes into every project in the house. This minimizes the likelihood of mayhem caused by the children.

  5. Step 5

START CONCEPTS OF GOOD AND BAD

Teach your children what is acceptable and what is not. I know parents use their faces to convey pleasure or displeasure at their children. Children are a blessing but they have to be managed well by parents who will not shy away from discipline.
