This article will tell you how to care for your hosiery and make it last longer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hosiery
  1. Step 1

Trim and file your toenails to avoid snags when you're slipping on delicate hosiery. If you have long nails (especially fake ones), wear cotton gloves when you put on pantyhose to avoid ripping them.

  2. Step 2

Keep in mind that control top pantyhose have greater strength and durability than their regular counterparts.

  3. Step 3

If you get a run and aren't able to change into a new pair of hosiery, dab a bit of clear fingernail polish on the run to keep it from getting worse.

  4. Step 4

Protect your investment by properly caring for your hosiery. Hand wash your hosiery in mild detergent, or place it in a lingerie bag and wash it on the gentle cycle in your washing machine. Let them hang dry.

  5. Step 5

Keep extra pairs in your tote bag, glove compartment and desk drawer so you are never caught in a bind with a pair of ruined hose.
