A perfectly folded hanky can make a suit look sharp. Folding a silk scarf to go into a pocket can be done in just minutes with this simple folding technique. It will create the perfect-sized piece of fabric to create a nice look when tucked into a suit pocket.

From Quick Guide: Handkerchief Basics
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fold the handkerchief in half so that the corners create a point. The handkerchief should look like a triangle.

  2. Step 2

Turn the handkerchief so that the flat edge is toward your body . The corners should be pointing in front of you and to the left and right.

  3. Step 3

Fold the left corner so that the point touches the center of the hanky.

  4. Step 4

Fold the right corner so that its point touches the center and meets the left corner's point.

  5. Step 5

Hold the points in the center as you slide the handkerchief into the pocket. The point should be sticking out of the pocket and the folded points should be against the backside of the pocket.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before putting it in your pocket, iron the folded handkerchief for a crisper look.
