yummy spaghetti and meatballs

Italian is my favorite type of food. I love it. Spaghetti and meatballs especially. I started making the meatballs out of turkey when we decided to get away from eating so much beef. It turned out wonderful.
This recipe makes about 24 medium meatballs. I put enough meatballs in freezer bags for a meal and freeze (about 6 to 8 per bag). It gives me enough for three or four meals.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • skillet
  • medium bowl
  • cooking oil
  • spray oil
  • cookie sheet/oven pan
  • 1 pound of ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped small
  • 1 sleeve of Ritz type crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 small can of tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • favorite spaghetti sauce
  • pasta
  • a good appetite
  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix turkey, salt, garlic powder, crackers, tomato sauce, and onion in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly. I mix with my hands.

  2. Step 2

Heat skillet with about 1/4 inch of oil. Pinch off of meat mixture about an inch portions. Roll it in palm of hand into ball. Place in the hot oil. Continue, browning all sides of the balls.
Place the browned balls in the sprayed oven pan.
Place in oven and cook for 10 minutes to finish cooking.

  3. Step 3

    Let them cool.
Divide them into portions. Freeze the ones to use later. I use small freezer bags. I put 6 to 8 in each and when I am ready to use, I will set it out and within minutes I am ready for a delicious spaghetti dinner.

  4. Step 4

Place the meatballs in the cooked pasta with your favorite spaghetti sauce. Warm for about 15 minutes. Serve with salad and garlic bread. Yum Yum!

Tips & Warnings
  • When browning the meatballs in the oven, be very careful and don't burn.
