Things You'll Need:
- Party hats
- streamers
- balloons
- champagne
- sparkling cider
- appetizers
- guest list
-
Step 1
First thing you'll want to do is decide who to invite. Is this a small party or large gathering? Will kids be invited? Do you have a place for people to stay over? Once you've figured this out you can use an online invitation site (see resources) to send out e-invitations.
-
Step 2
Food: You can prepare all the food yourself or ask close friends and family to each bring a small dish. It's ok to ask for a little something - just don't go overboard making them do all the work! Don't forget to take into consideration any special diets (ex. vegetarians, diabetics) so you can include everyone.
-
Step 3
Drinks: Alcohol mixes are great but you don't have to have a fully stocked bar for everyone to have a great time. You should at least have champagne and non-alcoholic sparkling cider for everyone to participate in a toast.
-
Step 4
Decorations: You can find whimsical decorations at the dollar store. Party hats, noise makers, leis, and balloons should be enough to have fun!
-
Step 5
Sleeping arrangements: For the safety of your guests, you should at least be able to offer space for them to stay over. Trust me, my house isn't big but we'll find room rather than have anyone get hurt. You can include on your invitations: Bring a sleeping bag for the sleepover!
-
Step 6
Most importantly, Have Fun! This is a time to reflect on the year past and welcome the New Year with the ones you love!
