Step 1
Reflect on the past year. Did you accomplish all that you had set out to do? If you didn't, set out to complete those tasks if there is still time enough to do so. Prepare to welcome a New Year in your life with joy and wonderment, not dread of things yet left undone.
-
Step 2
Heal bruised and broken relationships before the year is up. If you aren't able to completely heal them, at least put the healing into motion before ringing in a new year. This will give you even more to look forward to in the new year to come and undoubtedly take a huge weight off your shoulders.
-
Step 3
Pay off any debts within your means. While you're at it, look to see if your larger loans have interest rates as low as they could be. If not, seek your lender's advice on securing the best possible deal for your situation. What better way to ring in the New Year than with less debt?
-
Step 4
Take your time to come up with a New Year's resolution that is both realistic and beneficial to you. Ringing in the New Year is not about making some false claim to glory in going against your own odds just to brag at your New Year's party or giving some lame resolution because you hadn't considered it before being asked on New Year's Day. Think outside the box.
